Hey guys its Keanu from Shepard gaming and today I have some great news to talk about in regards to Mass Effect. After last video and the apparent abandonment of androemda I was worried for the future of mass effect. But it seems like we shouldn’t have to worry too much about mass effect now. as bioware and EA both acknowledge how important of a franchise it is and how large and diverse the fanbase is! First we are going to look at a tweet from current bioware GM, and the past creative director on the mass Effect trilogy Casey Hudson. On twitter a concerned fan tweeted to Casey about the fate of Mass Effect and asked if we would see another entry to which Casey stated!

That is great to hear from Casey Hudson and I like that in the text below they say mass effect will be back with a vengeance. AS if that was not good enough, EA executive vice president Patrick Soderlund told Gamereactor UK that he expects the mass effect franchise to come back. He thought androemda got bashed too much, I agree here, but too each their own and he also acknowledged the games short comings and how it wont be acceptable next time. He says

“I usually don’t do this, but this is one of those places where I feel like the game got criticized a little bit more than it deserved. I think the game is actually a great game. Yes, we have to acknowledge the fact that there were some things that maybe we could have done better, absolutely, but as a whole, if you go in and you buy the game today with everything that’s in it today, I believe that that’s a game worth buying, personally,”
I agree you can get the game for around $30 or less right now which seems like a very fair price. Ok so then he went on to say

“The second thing I’ll say is, for Mass Effect as a franchise, that has such a big fanbase, and you know I’ve seen people saying ‘Oh, EA’s not making another Mass Effect’. I see no reason why we shouldn’t come back to Mass Effect. Why not? It’s a spectacular universe, it’s a loved [series], it has a big fanbase, and it’s a game that has done a lot for EA and for BioWare.”

Next up he does acknowledge that the game could have been done in areas and that they have learned from Andromeda by stating, “when EA does bring Mass Effect back, it will have to ensure that it does so in a “really [relevant] way,” and set it in a “fresh, exciting place.” And Andromeda’s infamous technical issues notwithstanding, that’s the real difficulty facing BioWare in all this: What do you do after you’ve already combated galaxy-wide annihilation?

So to me guys this is great news and this has put a lot fo my deep worries aside for now! I hope EA and bioware take these hard lessons learned from Mass Effect 3’s endings, the problems with dragon age inquistion’s open world quest design, and all the faults of Andromeda and uses this as postitve enrgy and drive to make all of their current and upcoming games that much better. It was really great to hear the developers and publishers acknowledge the game’s problems and assure us mass effect will be beack and when it is it will be done right by us!
Let me know what you guys think of this in the coments below and lets chat! If you like this video then leave a like and if your new to the channel then subscribe to stay updated on all things mass effect, anthem, and awesome gaming content! Ill see you guys on the next Shepard gaming video!
